ADMA INITIATIVE

The European Commission initiated the establishment of a European Advanced Manufacturing Support Centre to help SMEs assess the possibility of adopting both advanced manufacturing solutions as well as social innovation strategies thereby transforming their organization towards next-generation factories with more competitive, modern and sustainable production.

The European ADMA Support Centre has:

Developed a uniform SME transformation methodology

Certified advisors through train-the-trainer sessions

Tested the ADMA transformation methodology across EU

Created peer-to-peer learning networks for champions

Organised a Factory of the Future showcase event

The European ADMA Support Centre will focus on facilitating the access of SMEs to technological, organisational, financial as well as business model expertise available within the consortium and their broader ecosystem.

As the technological and social innovation expertise of a downstream SME is often quite limited, they often do not exactly know what knowledge, services and equipment is required for their demand. The European ADMA Support Centre will therefore centralize the SMEs´ request and offer a personal contact with Factories of the Future advisors.

The 1st phase of the European ADMA support centre started in 2018 and ended in 2021. The consortium included both technological and non-technological partners

MADE in DK, FME in NL, ECM/It’s OWL in DE, AFIL in IT and Agoria in BE are important stakeholders close to regional and national authorities in their country.

The technology partners (TNO in NL, SIRRIS in BE, DTI in DK, Eurecat in ES, CETIM in FR, TECOS in SI and PIAP in PL) will be instrumental in approaching (and interacting with) SMEs to define their industrial needs and implement a transformation plan within their company. These technology partners have a long tradition of technology transfer and cooperation with industry.

The consortium also integrates non-technological partners like communication experts (Old Continent, Latitude Events), and outreach and learning network partners (FundingBox, IDEA Consult).
